About Argentine Mennonite Church
Learn about our congregationWelcome to the Argentine Mennonite Church website. We are a small church with a big heart in a neighborhood with big needs. The Argentine district in Kansas City is a neighborhood in transition. We at Argentine Mennonite have served this community for over 70 years through good times and bad. Today God is once again calling us to play a role in transforming this community and we want to invite you to be a part of this story.
Let me share a little about who we are as a faith community. Argentine Mennonite is a church in the Anabaptist tradition. We are a community that believes that our witness to Christ includes the ministry of peace and reconciliation. We strongly affirm that we get our values from the Bible, which is the Word of God. We also believe that the Bible can only be interpreted through the lens of Jesus Christ whether you are reading Genesis or Revelation or any book in between. We are also a community of believers saved for good works and that we are called to be present among the hurting, the disadvantaged and the sick in need of a Savior. Finally we believe that if we have sound doctrine and sacrificial service but do not have love, then all that proceeds is meaningless in God’s eyes.
Even though we have a long history, we are in many ways a new church plant. We are seeking God’s direction anew and we are building a community that would be a strong witness to Christ in the neighborhood. So welcome to the Argentine Mennonite Church. We hope you will explore these pages and even better we hope you can join us for worship this Sunday. Discover for yourself if our little community with a big vision is where your restlessness for God can find a fitting home.
