Lunch Buddies : Elementary School Ministry

This ministry is conducted in partnership with the New Stanley Elementary School and Caring For Kids. Volunteers are trained and cleared by the school district after which we get to come into the school and eat lunch with kids specially chosen by the school counselor. This time with our kids allows us to build that mentoring time with young people. Our kids also look forward to this time also because it gives them special privileges of having lunch outside the space and restrictions of the school cafeteria. Our volunteers use this weekly check in to get a sense of their challenges and motivations and it gives us an opportunity to offer guidance and encouragement.
